I currently have a neutered male boxer of approximately 18 months old. When my boxer was approx. 11 to 12 months old he developed a serious diarrhoea problem. Once I took him to the vets and spent in excess of $1000, I was informed by the vet he had something similar to Crones disease in humans which is prevalent in the breed due to their highly strung nature. My dog is now on cortiszone for the rest of his life and can only cope with eating boiled kangaroo meat and rice. Therefore he always remains skinny regardless of how much I feed him. I was just wondering if anyone else has encountered this terrible ailment in boxers or has any extra advice on the subject. We love him very much and just dont want anyone to think we mistreat him because of his skinnyness. Any replies welcome.
